***** "Installation" *****

Okay, I think everybody knows how to do it, but here its once again:

1. Make a directory in the ..\cars path
   [e.g.: c:\indycar\cars\indy95]

2. Copy my files in this path!

2a. Be sure that the name of the path is equivalent to the name of the new
.dat!! Otherwise it does not work!
   [e.g.: c:\indycar\cars\indy95\indy95.dat or ...\cars\ppg95\ppg95.dat]

3. Start Indycar Racing II

4. Select the driver info menu

5. Now you will find a new option: Carsets

6. Return to the race track and enjoy the realistic atmosphere of the
   '95 season!

***** Comment to the drivers2 text file *****

Choosing which driver would be included in the carset was very difficult.
Many nights and days I sat in front of the PC and painted cars
and changing the values of aggression, drag, power etc. in the drivers2.txt
file to a more realistic level...

Short History of the carset:
There are three versions of my season '95 carset, but the first one was
not completed. It suffered also from the old paintkit version where the back
colours of the cars could not be changed. So in the first carset I decided to
use cars which would fit to the colour of the back. So in my first work there
were drivers like Christian Danner, Scott Sharp or Scott Brayton
But I recognized that they had less than 3 races in the season 1995.
So I modified my *.dat. I made a newlist with an idea behind it:
The new carset had to be more realistic. This then was version 2 of the
carset.
While the first and the second carset had the ICR2 standard 3DO
this version 3 now has Jeff McKeands cool 3D carshape.

***** The order of the drivers *****

The season 1995 had 17 races (including Miami). The games has only
16 tracks (including Indianapolis, of course) which does not matter.
I put the drivers who have had more than 15 races in the front of the
drivers2 text file.

M.Andretti R.Boesel G.De Ferran T.Fabi A.Fernandez Ch.Fittipaldi M.Gugelmin B.Herta S.Johansson S.Pruett B.Rahal A.Ribeiro P.Tracy J.Vasser J.Villeneuve A.Zampedri (alphabetical order: Andretti - Zampedri; all 17 Races)
E.Fittipaldi R.Gordon H.Matsushita E.Salazar A.Unser Jr. (alphabetical order: Fittipaldi - Unser Jr.; 16 Races)
E.Cheever (15 Races)
had over or exactly 15 Races in Season 95
__________
TOTAL 22 Drivers

These drivers are the first in my text file. They will appear in every race in
the season with 23 drivers. The next drivers are those with more than 10 races.

C.Guerrero (14 races)
D.Sullivan (13 races)
E.Bachelart M.Greco (11 races; alphabetical order)
had over 10 Races in Season 95
__________
TOTAL 26 Drivers

This drivers won't appear in every season race. They ALL will appear only at tracks
where the starting field has a number of 27 drivers.
The next drivers had less than 10 races.

P.Johnstone (7 races)
D.Hall (5 races)
L.St.James (3 races)
S.Goodyear (3 races)
S.Fox (1 race)
had under 10 Races in Season 95
_________
TOTAL 31 Drivers

This means Parker Johnstone will appear in tracks with 28 drivers
Dean Hall in tracks with 29 drivers
Lyn St.James in tracks with 30 drivers
Scott Goodyear in tracks with 31 drivers
and finally Stan Fox in tracks with 32 drivers

Of course the drivers will not miss at the tracks where they had really missed
and of course this missing is dependent of the settings of the opponents number
you have in the track txt files, but I think this carset creates more realism.

***** other things *****

There are some other things to mention. You will see it in the driver info:

1)	Instead of the nickname you will see the birthday of the driver [hey, my birthday is
not the birthday which is seen there; so dont send me any mail which says
	"happy birthday"!!]

2)	The "Hometown" is replaced by the name of the car (source: interactive review CD-ROM
	by optical data, inc.)

3)	The engines and chassis names are changed in the drivers2.txt.
So every driver has the real composition of chassis and engine.
	I differed between 94 and 95 chassis.
Disadvantage: I didnt differ the graphics between 94 and 95
cars. Also 96 cars which I used were only roughly modified.
The colors are o.k. but I dont know whether the rear part of some
	cars is reflected properly.

Attention: You cant change the carset infos in the drivers info menu.
It wont be saved. The attributes are set to read only.

4)	Here are the numbers of competitors at the races for the 1995 season:

	AUSTRALIA cars 26

	BAYVIEW* cars 24

	CLEVELAND cars 27

	DETROIT cars 28

	ELKHART cars 28

	INDY cars 33

	LAGUNA cars 28

	LONG BEACH cars 28

	MICHIGAN cars 27

	MID-OHIO cars 29

	MILWAUKEE cars 26

	NAZARETH cars 27

	NEW ENGLAND cars 26

	PHOENIX cars 27

	PORTLAND cars 26

	TORONTO cars 27

	VANCOUVER cars 29

You might change the numbers in the track txt - files.
*Bayview: Bayview is the N1 Sears Point track in an edited form. Its flattened and the graphics
are changed. I use Bayview as a replacement for the Miami street course. The race was NOT a
race in Homestead. Bayview is availible at LATE APEX RACING.

***** credits *****

I want to thank those guys from Papyrus for this cool racing simulation!
Although the game is getting older and although there are fantastic graphics
nowadays this game is still playable (it begun 1991 with IndyCar Racing I).
Thanks!

Furthermore I want to thank myself for robbing my time and to park my ass in
the chair to develop and create this carset!
Thanks!

I wish to thank all the authors of other carsets! Now I know what they had
to survive. These authors know what the hell looks like!
Thanks a lot!

Thanks to Gerhard Lingenberg to give us Indy!

Thanks to all other track editors!

Thanks to the "Optical data, Inc." CD-ROM: Indycar 95 interactive review!!!
It helped me very, very much.

And now for something completely different:
Happy Racing!!!
